Debra Bronston is the Managing Partner of On-Point. Debra began her business career as a Financial Examiner for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City where for nearly 11 years, she examined large and complex state member banks and bank holding companies in the Tenth Federal Reserve District. As one of the first women of color in that role, she broke new ground and was able to build strong relationships and gain the respect and admiration of colleagues and management. She achieved the status of Commissioned Financial Examiner for the Federal Reserve System.
Debra was afforded the opportunity to establish and spearhead the bank’s diversity strategy, a high profile role that for 20 years, enabled her to expand her influence across the organization and significantly impact its talent recruitment and retention and cultural change. She created partnerships with community organizations and civic leaders to build public awareness and visibility for the bank in its metropolitan areas of Kansas City, Denver, Oklahoma City and Omaha and broaden its pool of candidates with strong leadership skills and technical knowledge. She designed and implemented policies and procedures, education initiatives and systems of accountability to ensure organizational equity.
In 2011, Debra retired from the Federal Reserve Bank. After a year of self-assessment and reflection, Debra became a Project Staff Consultant with Right Management, a global leader in talent and career management workforce solutions that designs and delivers solutions to align talent strategy with business strategy. Simultaneously, Debra created On-Point.
Debra’s passion for making a positive difference in the lives of others extends to her personal life. She is a leader, member and supporter of organizations such as Black Achievers Society of Kansas City, Lee’s Summit Human Relations Commission, National Black MBA Association, Rockhurst University Inaugural Leadership Studies Advisory Board and Urban Financial Services Coalition. Debra’s dedication to the mission of these organizations has resulted in her receiving distinguished awards that include the Martin Luther King Drum Major for Service Award from the White House and the President’s and Robert J. Samuels Award from the Urban Financial Services Coalition.
Debra holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from Rockhurst University, Kansas City, MO and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Grambling State University, Grambling, LA. She is also a graduate of the Kauffman Foundation’s FastTrac New Venture Program. Debra and her husband Robert reside in Lee’s Summit, MO.
